Header to down pipe donut gasket junction
My donut developed a leak and I'm attempting to replace it. Picked up the Walker gasket from Advanced. It fits over the header end perfectly, but it is larger than the down pipe flare and I can't crush it enough to thread the nuts. Should it really be this difficult?

I had a similar issue but I was working with a new exhaust manifold. My bolts were even longer than the studs on the stock manifold too. I was able to push up one side of that metal plate enough to get the nut to bite and hold it in place, then hammered the other end up until I could get the other nut on. If you are using the old stud, it might break doing it this way. I may have used clamps too, I don't remember.
