Default Head light switch problem please help

Hey guys im on the site trying to get some info to help solve my Dads jeep cherokee 91 headlight problem. His headlights stopped working and so we purchased a new switch installed it and all was well for a few hours and the switch blew again. what procedure should i go by to figure out how to narrow this problem down . any ideas would be fully appreciated -thanks

ther is a fuse called HOLP in the engine bay and i changed mine and was good ever since (that is... in my 98 idk if urs is the same)

did it work?? in mine the fuse is same size as the starter fuse

If it is melting switches then it musthave a short ie.excessive current flow. I wouldstart by looking a the plug for front end lighting under the air box this seems to be a problem spot for green and fuzzy wiring.

Try checking your fuse boxes...Inside the cab and engine bay on the passengers side.
