I finally got my head. It was a steal. I got an'05 head with only 62k on it for $187. Checks out good, its super clean and will be going on as is.

Autozone has two head gasket sets listed on their website. One is the fel-pro for $150

Would there be any reason to NOT get the $69.99 kit?

I dont see what the Fel-Pro kit could possibly do to justify the price doubling. Its not like it comes with the head bolts or anything.


...Also, is it necessary to replace the head bolts. I plan to, but if they should be Ok I may just skip them.

 

The head bolts can be re-used ONLY once. If there is any question, use NEW. Check out this site for new ones. Only $40 or $50.

Go to www.rockauto.com, same sets by part number only $10 difference. FelPro set is $99.00, other is $87.00. I am a FelPro fan myself.

 

Same site, felpro head bolt set $28.00. Replacement is recomended. At less than $30 why take the chance?

 

Go down to AZ and check 'em both out.. I think you'll find you're a Felpro fan
