Default Head bolts

Should I reuse my old had bolts or should I order new ones? An if I order new ones where could I get them from?

The FSM states that headbolts can be re-used 1 time. If you don't if they've been removed before, play it safe and get a new set.

Any autoparts store will be able to get them, they probably have them on the shelf.

Has your head been replaced before? Check the existing bolts, look for a paint mark on top, if it has this they have been re-used once already. Head bolts can be re-used one time as a general rule...but you can't always truly tell if they have been re-used or not unless the last person in there marked them. Get new if you are unsure, it's cheap insurance to make sure it's done correctly. I would just replace them anyways, but that's me.

I "Always" replace the head bolts on an engine like that and not really knowing anything about it. I use Summit or Jegs and just order them the only brand I use are "ARP" fasteners period, best quality there are and prices at those two vendors.

Mine have been off and on my '92 at least 4 times now and my head hasn't blown off yet.

That was before I knew 2 times was the limit. If, and I hope it never comes to this, the head ever has to come off again I will replace them with ARP bolts.

...for those who don't understand why to replace these fasteners...it may not fail, but why risk it?
