Default Having trouble reading which rear axel i have

99 limited with selec trac
The axle reads Dana 43225
318 or 313 8. i cant make it out

This should be an easy one for you guys.

if it says dana and its a 99. that should mean its a dana 35. pictures?

Too rusty for a pic to come out since i can barely read it with my own eyes. are the other numbers the gears?

just seepage i guess. i was told the pinion bearing is bad it groans when i'm on the gas.

yup, just make sure its the same gearing and it will bolt right in there

Dana 35 means it has ABS.

well i need to swap this thing out with something and i only want to do it once and right. i plan on a 3" lift and no bigger than 31's when i get this sorted.

My understanding of ABS brakes is:

If it has ABS, it's a Dana 35.
but...
all Dana 35s don't have ABS. It was optional.

Chrysler 8.25s did not have ABS, at least not on XJs.

So the question remains - dubtajeep,
Do you have ABS?
