Having starting issues.
In the military over in the UK. Just bought a RHD Jeep Cherokee with the 4.0. Bought it and one thing that was wrong with it was a check engine light and oil pressure was pegged. And it needed a tune-up. Switched out the cap, rotor, plugs (it had Honda plugs in it they were shorter than the ones I got that were supposed to be in it) and wires. Well the rotor was the wrong one so i left the old one in and started it and it cranked fine. After that it would not start. Ordered the right rotor the next day replaced it started fine. I shut it off and than restarted it and will not start since. Put the old cap and old wires on it and it wanted to start for half a second. Waiting to test for spark as soon as my wife gets home. I was wondering if there is a sensor to keep it from not starting when the oil pressure is like that or is there a way to unplug that... Thanks.

okay, what year is it? The only sensor to my knowledge is the oil pressure sensor, which I believe should be above where you put the oil filter on...it's a part of that whole little apparatus that you screw the filter on to. I don't believe that would have any bearing on your vehicle not starting. Make sure that your firing order is correct.

1994, and I looked for the sensor and the previous owner stuck a bolt in there so thats that. Also I put the old Honda plugs (only 4 of them my kid took the rest) in it and now it wants to fire so I am going to get some new Honda plugs and see if it will fire.

Check the compression on the engine. Maybe Honda plugs burn hotter or something. If compression is low that's probably why it wont start.

Put the Honda plugs in and no go. Don't think it has anything to do with the compression, I drove it fine for 50 miles and now it wont start, hmmm. I am getting fuel into the engine and spark out of the plug wires.
