Default have you replaced your front seats?

If so, I need some info on what might work --for the sake of comfort. This is the part of the Cherokee that I absolutely hate: sitting in the godforsaken driver's seat.

If I had my choice, I would buy a Peugeot seat from a junkyard, but because there aren't many around anymore, I might try a Volvo, VW, Ford truck, or something with good lumbar support.

I don't know what problem I might run into if I were to buy a seat at the junkyard and then trying to adapt it to the bracket in my Cherokee. If you have any warnings or advice, please post.

Imma 95 Cherokee 4.0, automatic.

what year xj do you have? I had a 89. They had better side support similar to sports cars, but dont hold fat people well.

newer XJ's have bland non side bolstered seats they suck but fit bigger people better. My older XJ seats were pretty awesome. If your a big guy depending on your XJ you can upgrade to newer XJ. if your a fit guy like me you want the older seats like I did. If you want leather, thats not destroyed. I hated f150 seats, theyre huge but if you like them, Grand cherokee seats work awesome. Someone will chime in that swap for ya. I don't think its a direct bolt in, not sure. Good luck!

i was having trouble with driver side seat , they have a metal plate on bottom of the seat which holds your legs together and love handles , but this often broke so what you need to do is change the seats from passenger side to drivers and vice versa , but you also need to remove the seat rails couse their not the same , you need to remove 8 bolts from seat to do this , the 4 that uses the lower cushion and the other 4 for the rails , its really easy and youll feel your seat as new again , there is a post which shows how to disassemble them for cleaning , its the same procedure to change them from sides ....

there is the write up with pics for the removal of the front seats , you just follow pics 10 , 11 , 12 and switch seats , and they will feel good as new!!

im telling you i had the same problem as you did , and all i had to do was this , same thing im telling you , just remove the lower cushion of each seat and remove the rails and put the drivers rails on the passenger side seat and and vice versa , just swapping the seats , and you'll see the difference...
