Default Hatch trim retainers

93 Cherokee Country
So the hatch trim on the Jeep has always been fairly loose, but since I took it off to replace the speakers, the retaining bolts don't seem to catch on anything whatsoever. I feel like there should be some plastic inserts for the holes they slide into, but there's nothing there. Anybody have this same issue?
(and on an unrelated note, does anybody know the thread pitch for the rear stud that holds the air box in place?)

This is the fastener. Fits into the groove on the panel then pushes into the hatch. I think this is a set, otherwise shop around. I paid like ten bucks for a bag but it's been awhile.

So you're telling me the trim panel isn't held in place by allen key bolts?

No.Those fasteners fit into slots on the back of the trim panel. Then you push the panel on, lining up with the holes in the rear hatch.
