Default Has anyone seen this before?

Finally got some pictures of my Jeep on here. Now I can ask if anyone knows what this is.

Has anyone seen this before?-engine-component.jpg

It seems to be connected to the electrical system battery/alternator etc. I can't quite tell where the wires go.

Thanks.

weird haha never seen anything like that myself, was just curious, if it is a coil though i would leave it be for the time being until you got a little more info on it...coils are a part of the ignition system so i wouldnt start tearing into it until you check if its in use in the system or not.........hopefully someone that knows more about that particular unit chimes in

Yeah I am not about to just start tearing it apart. This is my daily driver after all.

its a after market coil like the msd one. if you remove it the jeep wont run. it may even be a high performance one.
