Default Harmonic Balancer goi

1998 Cherokee 4.0 215,000 miles. Is my Harmonic Balancer going/gone bad? Put in new driver side Motor mount, there is no dead cylinder, the vibration starts as a rhythmic pulse from idle, then at 2500 its just a full shake. Does not matter if Transmission is in P, N, or D, under load or not, MPH is also not a factor. The only code i have is EVAP related, P0455. There is also a good amount of oil leaking from the front of the pan. I think it may be one of three possibilities: 1 Harmonic balancer 2 Torque converter 3 Internal rotating assembly. What are your thoughts?

not true. A dead cylinder can act fine at idle but under certain RPM cause issues as combustion rises. I would say the balancer looks fine.

It is not a dead cylinder. Tested all six using drops of water as shown here.

That would be a rare exception. I am interested to know what could cause that condition. Have you fixed something like that?

A v8 (or more) could possibly hide the lope. I have had a few I6s, Supras and this Jeep, and I felt a missing cylinder every time. It quite sucks, actually, cus it usually means $. lol :/

FWIW, I have been experiencing a missing cylinder on my Jeep, but only when the engine is cold. If I bring it to a fast idle of 2k, it clears up and doesn't come back until it sits overnight again. I am pretty sure it is a 'sticky' fuel injector, but I don't have the cash to replace them just yet.

yes I have worked on vehicles with this issue, I'm a certified mechanic. However being he tested is with liquid as well chances of a dead cylinder are slim to none.

There is no code being thrown for a missfire.

This might progress a little faster if you edit your first post to include what you have done to attempt to solve the issue. Or we can continue with the 21 questions type of approach, your move.
