Do you just want a switch exactly like the plug-in remote, inside the cab or do you want a separately wired switch that goes from the winch to the cab and still be able to plug in and work your remote at the normal plug-in spot.

I have not done this but a buddy did it on his CJ7 and all he did was trace the wires to the plug and put a second wire on and route them inside and add a second plug and mount it into his dash. He kept the remote plugged in while wheeling and removed it when the Jeep was parked.

Well, I have an XRC8000 winch and I'd like to rig a set up like this, too. Sould be easy like Blue said. Just acquire another plug-in, with wiring, like the remote plug-in on the front of the winch. mount the plug-in inside the cab. run the witing through the engine bay and wire it up to the same posts on the winch motor as the other one is. As long as the remote is only plugged into one plug-in at at a time, the winch will operate like normal just like the other plug-in isn't even there.

Thanks for the replies. I'll look into this.
Another option I was thinking of is purchasing a few switches for lights and other accessories, and wiring my winch up to an actual switch. Does anyone know of how I would go about doing this?

I have an interior winch controller from Roadless Gear www.roadlessgear.com
It will give you the capability of still using your regular controller as your desiring. I havent finished up the install completely but you can see it installed into my dash in my build thread here.

I just hardwired my winch in the cab. I had some wire laying around in my garage, so it just cost me around $10. I bought the switch from radio shack(275-709) for around $5, and bought a few various heat shrink connectors. There was a write up on a bronco site that I frequent ...and a few others
