Default Hard start and rough idle at times

Disclaimer: I have searched forum. Found many threads that only half relate to my problem. I am able to work on my own jeep. Just need some veterans' advice :-)

Short story.... 2000 cherokee xj 4x4 4.0 auto 180xxx on jeep, 140xxx on 98 4.0 swap. Jeep needs primed (key on-off-on-off x3) when cold to start right up. If not, long crank 1st try and starts right up 2nd crank. Idle's and runs fine after that. Once warm, the engine will "chug" or rough idle after stopping to an idle then goes away after a couple seconds. Starts fine when warm.

Rest of the story: Injectors have about 25000 miles on them. Fuel pump, who knows. Not throwing any codes. Has been progressivly getting worse over the last 2 weeks. Can not pin point problem.

Thanks all

Load test alt and battery. Check TPS, IAC valve and o2 functions with a good computer. Make sure fuel delivery isn't compromised. Report back.
Also, overall tune up condition? Plugs, wires, cap/rotor, fluids..?

I'll check those out soon. All fluids are fine and on time. It's just very hard to diagnose this problem.

As I said, get a good diagnostics comp. on there and it may tell you a lot. Like if the sensors are sweeping out of range, or whatever..
