Default hard ride

Ok here it is. I have a 90 cherokee with a 5.5" lift and 33's. It rides like a logging truck, and if I hit one of our wonderful Wyoming pot holes it feels like the shock bottoms out and sounds like to front end is going to come out from under it.

Default Hard to say...

Without being in the Jeep, it is hard to say how uncharacteristic the ride is. While they are never a luxury car, they typically are not too bad for a lifted vehicle. So here is what I think:
Are the shocks ABLE to bottom out on just bumps? It seems they would only do so if they are either only an inch or two from bottoming out at ride height, or they are not working properly. If the shocks are not working properly, you would get shuttering out of the rear end on things like speed bumps, and the front end would be excessively bouncy on the road. If any of that is going on, change the shocks, and make sure they have proper compression and extension lengths for your Jeep.

Another thing that really effects shock absorbing is tires. Your tire pressue should probably be around 32 PSI. If you are running psi in the 40s, that could also contribute to a rough ride. Control arm bushings absorb a lot, too. If you are able to see play in the bushings, they need to be replaced.

If it is neither of those, that leaves suspension. If something up front is binding up to the point that it cannot move as far as it should, it will violently stop the uptravel, feeling like a bottomed out shock. This will break something eventually, so it should be found and fixed. Find any and all grease zerks in the front and grease them.

Here is one more thing you could try if the problem is not yet found- disconnect at least one end of each front shock, and have someone bounce the front end as much as they can while you look at track bar joints, TRE's, etc.

And for the last chapter of this novel, you said it feels like the front end is going to fall out? Does is shutter after the bump, or is it just the one hit that rattles the Jeep.

Like it was said above, these are not cars, and the whole suspension has been changed.
