Hand brake wire placement?

Hand brake wire placement?

Should the hand brake wire hang this low? It will snag on everything? Is this the original placement? Can it be moved?

It's a D35 c-clip.

Yes, yes, yes, and probably. The challenge is storing all the slack so it doesn't pull tight when you flex. I'd start with a longer cable and some zip ties to figure out a new route.
