Guess that sound! - "Ticking" from engine, just lifters?
I recently replaced the oil in my 2001 XJ Sport (189,000 miles). I went with the Rotella Triple Protection 10w30 and a Motorcraft FLA-1 filter. In my previous OCI's I'd used regular old Valvoline 10w30.
I'm getting a ticking now:
Is this just a lifter? It isn't going away after the jeep gets warmed up. Should I try a different filter or oil? Is it anything to be concerned about?
I know this is probably a pretty basic question, but unfortunately in my daily social circles I don't have a lot of good resources for asking a question like this. Thanks for your help!

judging from just the video, sounds like a rocker arm/lifter issue. might pull the valve cover, and check your pushrod lash. new oil could have also freed up some engine debris that is clogging a pushrod, or lifter..
While I am new to jeep and the inline 6 motor in general, I know motors..lol SBC guy for years...
Id start by draining that oil, and using the same stuff you used before. see if thats the culprit. sometimes also when you drain your motor really good of all oil, you will get a lifter tap, but shouldnt last more than a minute or two. then the oil will pump back up into the lifters and stop.
could be simple valve lash adjustment, or could mean replacing lifters..
or, second guess and this is kind of a stretch would be your flywheel bolts are loose. but usually sounds more like a tractor/diesle noise coming from the rear.

What happens if you shut the engine off for 30 seconds after starting? Does the tap quit upon restart?

The rhythm (frequency) sounds too fast for a lifter. What was your idle speed in that video? Does the frequency increase with rpm? Check that purge solenoid. Is your check engine light on?

No OCOD for me! I've gone back and forth between the Mopar and Motorcraft FLA-1 filters.

seriously though that's weird that it wasn't doing it before an oil change now it is.
