Exclamation Guage problems

Well, here it goes. I've spent many hours searching and reading up on what could cause the gauges on my 1997 Cherokee to be inoperable. When the problem first started it was just once in a while they wouldn't work, now its pretty much all the time. So far I have taken apart the dash and cleaned the gauge connections and grounds. I was also having long crank times so I replaced the cps, which cleared up that problem, but did nothing for the gauges. I have read that the clock spring or the airbag control module can cause these problems but I don't want to just throw parts at it. SO, as of right now, non of the gauges are functioning, the airbag light is on, and the jeep starts and runs perfectly fine. Sorry for the long post but I'm out of ideas to try.

i have this same problem in my jeep but so far it is only intermittent. You should see if there was ever a recall for the gauges or any other modules

Yes, the horn does sound even when the gauges aren't working. If it makes a difference the blinkers, wipers and cruise control all work to.

I don't know that much about the airbag system as I try to stay away from working with them too much, so where would the airbag harness connection be? Is it the yellow connection under the dash?
