Growl/Roar upon acceleration, esp when hot
After the engine is hot, I have a growling/roaring/straining sound at low RPM's while taking off from a stop. The belt squeals upon starting, but goes away once warm.
The engine seems like it's under stress and power is diminished. Then after getting past perhaps 3000 RPMs, the noise goes away.
This is related to the temp gauge being hotter than usual. It doesn't happen when cold.
I have replaced: clutch fan, harmonic balancer, radiator, electric fan.
I have read extensively on this issue on this forum and the suggestions range from motor mounts to torque converter. I will admit my trans fluid is a little low, but this seems to be a loss of power issue related to heat.
Ideas?
