Was the noise like this?

I replaced my transmission mount and it still makes the noise when I accelerate.

I get a similar noise in my 98'. It makes a noise that sounds like someone in the next room using a hammer drill on a concrete floor. (best I can describe it). But it only does it while climbing a hill or accelerating between the speeds of 53 and 58 mph. Never at any other speed. As soon as I let off the gas or push in the clutch it goes away. Also, it doesn't matter if it's 3rd, 4th, or 5th gear, and doesn't change frequency with engine RPM. It sounds like it is comming from somewhere forward of the firewall. So I figured it must be drive train related.

Not Bad at all... I did mine in about an hour when i was taking my time. Support the tranny, unbolt the old mount with the 4 bolts on the bottom and inside of the cross member. Then remove the cross member bolts and studs from both sides (the studs may break, so PB Blast them for a couple days). Then there are 2 18mm bolts the bolt the mount to the bottom of the T-case. Remove those and install the new mount.
Make sure you get 2 new bolts to replace the 2 studs you took out.

I FIGURED IT OUT!!!!! It's the mechanical fan (not the electrical), scraping against the bottom of its shroud. The top of the shroud is bolted on, but on the bottom it just kinda hangs loose, so sometimes when I accelerate the bottom goes back and the fan scrapes it, BINGO!!!!
