Default grinding noise under 20 mph. need suggestions.

Hey all. Its been awhile. So in wyoming weve been below zero for a week with temps as low as -20 or lower.

My jeep has a grinding noise front left (drivers side) from 15-20 mph. I am living in a hotel until I find a place to live. The jeep must run.

170k miles. Runs like a top.

Replaced wheel bearings and front breaks a few months ago. Rotors, pads, and all.. also replaced a ujoint? In front drive shaft and front pinion seal.
With all my replacements (0 issues for months following, cold weather has had me in 4wd a bit)

When it was super cold the automatic was hard to shift into park. All shifting is fine now..

I looked today and my breather hose for front diff was dangling free.

Soooo.... in neutral, in 2wd, in 4wd, whether braking or not, i get a grinding between 15-20 mph. No noise otherwise.

Ill likely take it to the shop tomorrow. I drive maybe 20 miles daily. I thought id enlist cfs help since there are gurus in the midst.

It feels like front pumpkin.. maybe a bad joint in driveshaft. Can anyone connect the symptoms to the weather and their own experience. Something needs fixed. Any advice is appreciated. Even with diff in neutral it grinds.

Did you clean and grease the slide bolts for the calipers? Sounds like a sticky caliper is a decent place to start.

I'm leaning more and more towards the brakes. I have gotten a sustained weeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee sound that goes away after about a block. I had forgotten about it happening before until it happened today. No grinding at all today. Last night it was so loud I was shopping for axles. Much appreciated. I'll post more if I can't sort it out.

Brakes were professionally installed. Had them do it since they were doing the pinion seal
