Arrow Grill and Front Trim Question for 1991

The guy I bought my '91 off of had hit a dear at one point, breaking the front grill. He purchased an '88 I believe thinking it was the same. It either was not, or he did not get all the pieces.

So my question is what all years are the grills and trim pieces a direct bolt on for a '91? I am sure this is a real newb question...but that is exactly what I am with this XJ.

Thanks!

Picture would help.. Because you don't say what is wrong. 88 grill should be direct bolt on. maybee it was just mounted wrong, or there is more damage than just the grill.

I will need to take some pics in the daylight tomorrow. I know the bezel around the driver headlight and parking lights need replaced...and I found those for $4 on rockauto.com. But I am missing a piece that goes between the grill and the header panel I think it is called. Also a piece that connects the two headlight bezel pieces that goes along the bottom.

It may just need these pieces, but for some reason the header panel along the top (Which is flush with the hood and fenders) has a gap and obviously something missing between it and the grill or they are the wrong size (Which is what lead me to believe the wrong year would not fit correctly.)

I will get pics up tomorrow for you guys to look at.

Thanks.

The parts should interchange.

But they all have to be there, because one thing attaches to another.

Might also be hidden damage behind existing parts.

Here are a couple pics I was able to quickly snap during my "Mr. Mom" duties. The Jeep is blocked in by my wife's car so I could not get the best of pictures. But I am sure you guys can point out what is missing to me. I know the trim around the driver headlight is broke. But what goes between the bumper and grill that appears to connect the headlight bezels and between the grill and the upper "header panel"? Basicly eveywhere you see blue what should be there? Thanks!

Oddly enough, even the pre 96, while all appearing the same, are different. I switched the grilles on my 90 and 95 and found that out along the way. The 1990 broke into -

Top trim piece
Bottom Trim piece.
2 Headlight bezels.
Grille.

The 1995 grill broke down into only 3 pieces -

Grille
Headlight bezels.

The running trim on the top and bottom at some point in the years between, was molded into the design, rather then being separate pieces. All I had to do for mine was drill 2 additional holes for the bezels to get the 90 assembly onto the 95. Nothing was needed to get it vise versa.

Okay, so it sounds I am missing the upper and lower trim pieces. I believe he said the grill came off of a 1988, so he must have left some parts behind. Looks like I will have a few things to look for at the JY as I did not see these pieces on RockAuto.com. Of course if I am reading this correctly I could buy a grill for a '95 that would have the upper/lower trim pieces built on...good to know I have a couple options.

Thanks
