Default got stuck in some deep water.

I have a 91 cherokee and I got stuck in some water just past the bottom of my door openings (i have a 4" lift). Since then there has been a squealing noise coming from the engine, seems like it's coming from the front, at first i thought it was the belt, but it is not going away.

Could it be a bearing anywhere? Any idea what I should look for? I checked all fluids and it doesn't seem like water got into anything major.

this may sound crazy but it works get a three foot pc of garden hose put on end to your ear and take the other end and move it around untill you can locate the squeeling

belts can glaze if the get slipped too hard....might still just be a belt squeal ,try tightening it up. or a new belt or it could be a pulley

I'm not sure if it would help a glazed belt but I have used belt conditioner before on older belts and it seemed to help squealing if that is the cause of your issue. Just make sure to take the belt off to apply the conditioner and don't use too much or the conditioner will be all over the engine compartment.
