Nice!! Looks like it'd be a little harder for a passenger to crawl in the rear, but that's not a biggie. Removable doors would put it together nicely, i think. I'm curious what you got it off of too!

I wouldn't trust it. you actually put that in its side or roll the it the rear feet will do through the wheel wells. it only protects ones in the rear bench not the driver and passenger since it has no a pillar. its your life but roll cages you do not mickey mouse!

as far as the actual practicality of a "roll cage" I too thought this same thing when I saw this, I think it was meant to be more for just looks in this application though, at least I hope that was the idea

...i think he knows it's not going to save the driver and front passenger, considering it ONLY covers the rear bench...

you mean it wont save me..lol yeah i wasnt to worried about that (dont plan on rolling her over, hope that day never comes) i also thought it would help some what by making the unibody kind stronger in away. i also did think about the rear finder wells, i wasnt to crazy about it, i have longer plates for the top & bottom not sure how much it would hep or not. but thank you guys for your concern.

I'd be a bit concerned about the 2 little bolts that hold it together as well. I'd lay a fat bead on the joints and build me some front legs and spreader bars.

Now just give rockhard 4x4 a call and get the rest. They make a pretty awesome roll cage for the XJ!

I've got to believe any cage is better than none unless it inspires you to do something riskier than you might otherwise do.
