So you're probably asking why am I posting on this thread. And what job pays you to wheel?
I'm a new tire development engineer for GY. I spent the last 2-3 years developing the new MT/R w/ Kevlar. So, if you have any specific questions about these tires, I can answer them. I'll do it within reason; I can't give out proprietary information. And, I'm not going to come on here and try to pimp the tire all over the place. I'm not on this forum on GY's behalf; I'm just an enthusiast who wants to enjoy his new hobby.
I do appreciate all of the information that I have gained from this forum thus far, Thank you. My intent is to be a contributor. What I have to offer is 10+ years of tire design experience. I won't offer opinions on what tire outperforms the other tire. Even though I've tested enough tires to know, and I'm a little bias. What I can offer is practical advice about tire application and usage. Again, I offer my personal experience and knowledge, not any resources or information owned by GY.

Thanks again for allowing me to partake

There’s a lot of knowledge on this site, from mechanics, to guys who've wheeled forever and guys like yourself. I don't think you have to pimp the MT/R's I see them all over the place. I would love a set, but now that I've seen the Dura Tracs I might be after those. My XJ is a daily driver and we get quite a bit of snow, this year more than others. The city doesn't plow the roads (apparently they don't have the money ) so that’s why I'm leaning more towards the Dura Trac. I've been looking around for people that have used them off-road to see what the performance is like. I'm not expecting them to perform like the MT/R. I'm just inquiring before I make an informed decision.

Look at these girls, its like a regular MTR except with siping!

vs. MTR

They are pretty close I think they are only available up here in Canada at Canadian Tire. They are on sale right now 31x10.5 is $195 a tire but you buy one get the next one half price.

Thats what I hear but when I move back east we've got more mud than rock. We get quite a bit of snow too. I think my folks had 4' at their place this winter thats why I'm leaning to the Dura Trac or Territory's for tires.

Here ya go. Absolutely the best all around tire I've ever owned. Severe weather rated and last week they walked right through 22" of snow in Minneapolis. Better than average off road. Smooth and barely any noise at 70 mph highway. Had em since July. These are 33's and i paid $845 mounted and balanced locally. They are frickin awsome!
