The "mechanic" may have just replaced the pump part of the module instead of replacing the complete fuel pump module.

thanks, that information will help me to not scream at him for charging me so much and keeping it so long...I can't stand the fuel gage not working properly...it drives me crazy...next pretty day I will get under there and check out the ground wire..It worked fine until he replaced the pump so maybe he just knocked a wire loose. It does run great now. I on the other hand am feeling the effects of my welding job...my eyes are red and I have a terrible headache still...but that will all go away soon. Maybe I'll get one of those autodarkening helments for my birthday...WHAT EVERY GIRL WANTS!
