I want to repair my headliner today, While it is out I am going to run some wiring to add another interior light to the cargo/back seat area.
Before I brake something are the side trim parts snapped on screwed on or what? These are the ones running down the top edge along the roof line..
Also this may be a good time to remove the factory roof racks and install the Surco I have on hand. Then I can patch up the holes left by the orig. racks and paint the entire roof with Rhino !!
Sound Cool ???

Came out easy Not nearly as hard as it looks. A Cordless screwdriver W/ Phillips and torx bits and it's less than 30 Minutes to get it out.
Now Cleaning the foam backing off is another story !! YUCK !!! That took probaly an hour to clean with a wire brush.
BTW What the heck is the electronic PC board mounted inside the dome light housing for ?? It has a tuning curcuit a Micro-processor and relay on it. Have no clue what it is for ???
Now I need to decide on material for the recovering. Something fairly thick would be good as long as its weight doesnt cause it to fall again. I even thought about trying to find something I could spray on that would look good.
Any Ideas >>?????

Are you talking about the thing right above the rear view mirror with the little black cover on it if so its for the keyless entry.
As for what to cover it with i went to the local fabric store and picked up so new headliner material they had 9 different colors in stock and came in either 1/8" or 1/4 foam backing.
I went with the 1/4 backing to cover up any imperfections better and also alittle more nicer looking.
It was about $10.99 a yard and i needed about 3 yards to make sure i had plenty.
If you dont want to put new fabric on i have seen people buy the spray on rhino liner and do that.

I'll try the fabric store tomorrow and see what I find. At least the hard part is done now.
I might go ahead and mount my roof rack to the roof while I have access to the inside as well. That way I can bolt it down solid and seal the bolt holes up good.

WOO HOO ! ! ! !
Its done and looks great! I ended up using a dark grey felt material that I found at the Fabric store. There was a guy there getting the same thing for the same prupose, Said he used it several times.
Anyway, It's not that bad of job to do, Just a little time consuming and getting all the trim back on, Getting the Dam Visors reinstalled was the hardest part. (Note To Self : Holes will only line up ONE WAY ! )
I added another Cargo light in the rear that really lights up the inside. And I think I'll get another one and mount it right on the forward interior light. The Lights in this truck really SUCK !
While the headliner was out I put my roof rack on and bolted it right up from the bottom. Also ran a heavy gauge wire up to the roof rack for lights to be added up top later.
The headliner wasn't too bad, I would reccomend doing it if your thinking about it at all. It really made the interior look good. I painted the speaker grills and the factory light housing etc before they went back in.
My next step is to rebuild the front suspension, Completely ! While adding 3" of Lift.......I have 30" tires on it with the stock height, so 32-33's should be possible with a sollid 3".....
One Step at a Time !!

I want to mount a couple off road lights up in the front of the rack, If i can find some that my cheap *** can afford......LOL
I will mask off the roof area and Spray the roof from the rear to the end of the factory rack rails with Bedliner, That will protect everything and add another layer of Sealing too....
P.S. This does get habit forming doesn't it? I like working on my ole Jeep !
