well it depends on what kinda of budget boost your doin. If you want 31's and your doin a 2" BB I would think they would fit but you would rub when your at full turn or clase o it. I would play it safe and go for some 30x9.50's

well now that i think about it, what would be cheaper and better, a 2 in OME lift with like 1 BB or a 3 inch lift when it comes to ride quality.
3 in lift from OME also
3 in lift from OME also

There was someone that fit 36" tires on stock suspension, but you said you don't want to trim your fenders. You may be able to squeeze some 31's under a 2" lift, but a 3" would be much better for 31's and there would be a lot less rubbing when you flex. Keep in mind that you'll also want rims with less backspacing so you don't rub on the control arms when the steering is at full lock.

I have stock height and 30" tires...they rub that plastic fender well in front of the tire (not the fender or the fender flare) when one edge of the tire is fully turned. They're bran new tires so they have already made a hole about the size of a regular deck of cards and dont rub anymore...
my point being if you go 1" bigger than me with a 2" lift you WILL be fine.

at 3", 31" tires will rub on the front of the wheel well on the fender flare. you can get away with a small amount of trimming there to make them clear, i'm talking maybe an inch. at 2" of lift and 31"s every bump you hit will cause your fender flares to pop off the rear. 30"s are a good fit to a 2" lift, your stock 235's are approx 27" tall so your gaining 1.5" from the center of the wheel.

He also has a 502 big block in it

I myself, would go with Old Man Emu 2.5". It's a bit pricey. But has the best ride quality of On/Off road. Unless you plan on spending all of your time, in the woods. Comes with every thing, leafs, coils, shocks, TC drop. And easily fits 31" tires, With out trimming. (Allows you to keep your fender liners, A big plus) Farther more, If you where to add 2' later, easily done with shackles and spacers. (The TC drop will have already been done) In the mean time. The 235's wouldn't look too stupid, until you get the larger tires you want. Thats what I plan on doing. JMO!
