I have a 2002 Grand Cherokee limited addition. All of a sudden after the vehicle is turned off I get popcorn popping sounds coming from the left side under the dash. It's not electrical and it is random , so of course it never happens when I take it to the dealer. Any info or suggestions would be gratefully appreciated.

 

Are the climate controls still working properly?

My buddy has a GMC sierra and his heater box randomly pops after starting/stopping the engine. Maybe similar problem.

 

Maybe its because of the HVAC controls that operated by vacuum and you are hearing the vacuum switches backing off.
