i have a 2000 Cherokee with 35in mud terrain tires with the stock 3.55 gears... was wandering if i should put 4.11 or 4.56 gears in it to make it as close to stock as possible plus help the gas mileage a little bit. anyone have some advice?

35/27.7=1.263
3.55*1.263=4.48
"technically" 4.48 will bring you back to stock, so 4.56 is the closest to it... but i think 4.88 might be more friendly for you, because the extra weight of the large tires, lift kit and your other accessories compared to stock setup will need some extra power to pull. so gearing down might help recover some of your power and i don't imagine they would hurt your gas mileage that bad. heck, it might even be better than the gas mileage on 4.56.

thanks for all the help. looks like im going with 4.88s. and suggestions on limited slip diffs? i dont want to go full lock because its drive on the street alot and i dont want a air locker because on the price
Why no full locker in the rear? You won't notice it in dd unless you often do u turns and punch it! For (typical) dd you will never notice it. So why not it won't effect gas mileage or anything. You will never know its there unless your off road.
