Arrow 89 Xj idol question.

Ok, so a while back i posted a thread about my 89s high idol problem after i got water in the engin. It kinda fixed its self, i was at a stop sign and i relized the truck was running right, But after i turned it off, and turn it back on it would again be at a high idol, but NOW when i turn it on, it still runs at a high idol, but if i rev the motor up a few times, it comes right back down... whats the problem? anyone know?

IAC. Clean your throttle body and replace or clean your IAC. Once you take it off you will see it is coated with Carbon clean it off and she will be good to go.

Just to add

The problem you have is called a "hot start".

Mine was suffering from the same thing. Cleaning the throttle body helped for about a month. This last time I clean the IAC and the throttle body and the fix has lasted the longest.

IDOL vs. IDLE

Idle (idling) is a term which generally refers to a lack of motion and/or energy

An idol is a man-made object that is worshiped in some way.
