Gears in a 4cyl.
Ok i have got a 94 cherokee with 4.0 inline 6. stock automatic transmission, stock transfer case, stock gears too. I was told that if i were to get the front and rear end out of a cherokee with a 4 cyl. that those axles have 4.10 gears. Anyone know any facts on that.

don't put used gears in your jeep, swap axles.
if you're doing a gear swap, you want new gears or hardly/not worn gears, or it will be a hell of a time to match wear pattern.
some 4 cylinder xj's had 4.10's. 4 speed manual trans 4 cylinders were 3.55's or 3.73's. 5 speed manual trans 4 cylinders were 3.55, 3.73, or 4.10's...but that depends on the xj. 4 cylinder automatic were 4.10's or 4.56's.
no guarantee on gears, though you are more likely to find 4.10's in a 4 cylinder 5 speed xj or mj than you are in any other one.
