GEAR RATIO
Hi guys, I own 3 Jeep Cherokee Classics. Luv them. I just bought a pull type RV and I know the towing capicity of the Jeeps I have is 5000#,,,,however the trailer weighs about 4400# loaded. I pulled it about 150 miles last week and it seems like the Jeep is really laboring. I do not run it in Drive. I had a 5th wheel trailer once and pulled it with a half ton Ford, changed the rear end ratio to 4:10 and it made a world of difference. Even better gas mileage not pullling. Have any of you put in 4:10 gears, and if yes could U please give me a reference as knowledge of performance and where to buy them? I know it would really help me. Thanks
