Hi Guys,
I've been re-gearing a junkyard HP Dana 30 for my 2001 XJ, The axle had 3.07 gears in and i put 4.10 in it with a ARB locker. The 3.07 pinion did not have any depth shims, so I have a bit of extra trial and error getting them set up. I am fairly happy with my current results, but I would like a little feedback on my pattern.
Pinion depth is .048"
Backlash is .0065"
Pinion pre-load is about 20in lbs
Carrier pre-load will be set by adding .004" to each side of the carrier upon final assembly.
