Gauge cluster stops working...
As the title states I am having an issue with my gauge cluster. I was driving down the road today and I look down and see my Air Bag light on and all my gauges are at zero. For some reason in my head I get this idea to hit the passenger side air bag, when I hit the left side of the air bag cover the light goes out and all the gauges start working again. It happens again before I get home and I do the same thing to fix it. A couple days ago I started my Jeep and the Air Bag light was on and the gauges didn't work. I shut it off and started it again a couple times to fix the problem. Has anyone had this same issue or similar problem and can point me in the right direction as to where to look to fix this? Any and all help will be greatly appreciated. Thank you in advance.

Most likely loose gauge cluster contact. Next time that happens try pushing on the gauge cluster. You may need to pull the cluster and clean and reseat the contacts.

Yes, it sounds like the plug on the back is loose. I would pull the cluster and re-connect the the plug and see if that fixes the problem. It's a pretty common thing with xjs. Hope that works out.
