i have a 97 xj and i need a gauge cluster or i think i do. my radio was put in by the hack job of a previous owner and when i took it out 2 wires touched and my cluster stoped working and my dome lights went out. ive done this before in my chevy so i went and checked the fuse and it was blown i replaced that and the dome lights started working but the gauge cluster dosent. so i pulled every single fuse in the cab and under the hood none are blown and it still doesnt work what does this mean? can someone please help

 

check the fuse before you replace everything, could be a cheap fix not as difficult as ur making it, it could be a breaker also, the lights and gauges usually run off the same fuse tho. i know u said u checked it but that would be the most probabol cause

 

i checked everysingle one again and theres still nothing working on it but when i pull out the headlight swtch the cluster backround lights work so im really confused

 

Check the IOD fuse under the hood, it may be popped.
