What year did the gauge cluster come from. The connections changed in 91 and a 90 or older model cluster will not work in your 91.

There are some years that do require different sending units for the oil pressure, engine temp, and voltmeter. Unfortunately I do not the exact years that had different sensors. I'm sure someone will speak up with the info you need.

I did the swap in my 99. Got gauges from another 99 so it was plug and play. Montana doesn't care about mileage on older vehicles so my jeep lost 200,000 miles in the swap.

I changed my gauges in my 94 and had to replace the temp sensor and oil press switch.

No need to add any new wires. It'll all work with the new sensors. Be sure to put some teflon tape on the threads of the Oil Pressure Sending Unit so it doesn't leak. Also, it is 99% likely that you break the connector on the Coolant Temp Sending Unit, because it is very brittle. It's made of brass and strips real easy. Just place a deep socket over it (I think it was 11mm) and tap it on with a hammer before you try to loosen it. If you have any problems, let me know and I'll try and help you out. I didn't this swap and everything works fine.

sweat that makes me so much happier i thought i was gonna have to run a wire and tap into the back of the cluster.

Nope, nothing to worry about. I was gonna do the clock swap, but couldn't find one at my junkyard so I said screw it.
