just put it in and it was cake. i just need to change the temp sensor and oil press switch. now do i have to add any wires or is it just the sensors itself?? i got a clock alos and it had the wire in the back so i pluged right in. ill post pics up tomorrow.
also everthing was plug and play the tach, fuel and battery worked all the lights the dim. everything worked except those two. im going for the sensors tomorrow and ill let you guys know if those work also..

There are some years that do require different sending units for the oil pressure, engine temp, and voltmeter. Unfortunately I do not the exact years that had different sensors. I'm sure someone will speak up with the info you need.
im about to do the same swap too in my xj and should be getting my new guages soon but, this link will tell you everything you need to know to do the sway

I did the swap in my 99. Got gauges from another 99 so it was plug and play. Montana doesn't care about mileage on older vehicles so my jeep lost 200,000 miles in the swap.

my i have the cluster with all the gauges, but its a pioneer so it has a big fuel gauge and no tach. my question is if i wanted to put a factory tach it in, are the wires already there behind my cluster? i have another jeep the same year i would be taking the tach from. sorry for partial threadjacking

No need to add any new wires. It'll all work with the new sensors. Be sure to put some teflon tape on the threads of the Oil Pressure Sending Unit so it doesn't leak. Also, it is 99% likely that you break the connector on the Coolant Temp Sending Unit, because it is very brittle. It's made of brass and strips real easy. Just place a deep socket over it (I think it was 11mm) and tap it on with a hammer before you try to loosen it. If you have any problems, let me know and I'll try and help you out. I didn't this swap and everything works fine.
