So i smelled fuel from the rear of my xj the other day, looked under it and gas tank has a leak. The plastic that covers the tank is not punctured that i can see but is wet with fuel in one particular spot. I havnt took a closer look at it yet. I no i havnt hit anything to cause this but is there a way to temp fix this like with some type of epoxy or cold weld something until i gather enough cash n time to replace this? Any insight would be appreciated. 1996 xj by the way

 

Chances are the access plate is leaking.
A new o-ring and locking collar are 5-6 bucks at NAPA.

Crawl under there and inspect the upper front of the tank to be sure.
Check for signs there or the fuel hoses.
