gas tank heat shield

do i really need it? im throwing on a skid row gas tank skid plate. the damn heat shield is in the way. i can prolly just cut it and make it fit with the tank but is it really nessicary? thanks

Heat shield

Is this the aluminum shielding near the exhaust? You don't need it per say, but it will raise your cabin temps if you remove it.

its the one that bends around the gas tank it the back. i doubt that would raise the temp inside the heep.
