well I'm just wondering how much rust is ok to have on my fuel tank I jet kinda nervous when i can run my hand over some parts and rust flakes off!
I also have been hearing a lot of noise from the fuel pump especialy on hot days, and want to know if this is normal or if it is going to crap out soon

I am headed out on a road trip this weekend and everything about my jeep scares me a little I just want to feel a little safer

 

it's prolly going to crap out soon. Check the rust inside the tank, if you remove the sending unit you will see....

 

I would drop the tank and clean it out. As far as the pump I hear mine and have always heard it.
