If I do try this mod, It would only be a short trim!! I wouldn't take it back more than an inch or so. Still leave room for expansion. It would be nice to have a couple extra gal. for the long haul though
Lucky bastage, I kinda like that law....kinda. It'd make gas more expensive though. What are they worried about, fires? It rains there like all the time.

You know....jerry cans accomplish this same goal (I know I know, this adds more gas without having to f**k around with the jerry cans. ).

they have the same law in Jersey. i think its friggn retarded. Im an adult and know how to pump my own gas, i do it every day. why pay some douch 8 bucks an hour to fill my tank. i can understand that there are some really stupid people out there that drive away with the nozzle still in there tank, and physicly handicapped people, but thats what the guy behind the counter is for. at least where i come from.

I like filling up my gas tank, plus I've purchased a locking tank cap. I've made my share of enemies. This recession also has me making sure that my stuff is harder to steal than the guy next to me, so there's that aspect.

It was kind of a redneck rig idea... but I still kinda toyed with the idea of rigging up a Jerry Can to automatically feed into the main tank via remote valve/pump/something to give you some extra tankage.

I think it's more making jobs for people than a problem with people filling there own tank. Might also have started because the mom and pop stations didn't want to change all there pumps over to the hooded nosels that we all use now.

Personally, I like filling my own tank!!!! Then I know it's full. These jokers that pump gas our here fill it on high and when it cuts off they just round it off to the nearest $1 and send you on your way. I've left the station with 3/4 of a tank more that once on a fill up I have to stress to them to TOP IT OFF!!!

This old jeep usually takes a couple of more gal. once it cuts off the first time

YES! I get that too!

It's nice being able to hop out, swipe my card, fill up, and be on my way.

You know, you could get like a 200 gallon reserve tank at your house on a trailer. Show up every 2 months and have them fill it

We have 300 days of sunshine a year. I'd love more snow.

I actually ran mine dry the other day and put a 2gal can in it to get to gas station 2 miles away and I then filled it up and it took 13.8 gal. Unless there is a fuel pickup problem then my 1999 Sport holds 15 gal or in aviation terms 15 gal usable fuel.
