Default Gas shocks vs. hydraulic shocks

Round 1:

I'm about to order some hydraulic Skyjacker shocks (7000 series) from Morris 4x4 and don't think I'll notice any difference from the Nitro's (8000 series) which are $7 more apiece, it's a Jeep, not a BMW.

Any suspension guru's here that will argue it's worth the extra cash for the Nitrogen's?

Hydro= better ride quality. Nitro= better off road because it doesn't get air bubbles in it. Or at least thats what they say. I cant feel much of a difference.
Im currently using the 7000's. They are ok. Still rides like a jeep. I dont really care about comfort.

Same here, I had the Nitro's on my XJ and they were extremely stiff. Wouldn't buy them again.
Hydro's I've heard aren't bad...but I went with Bilsteins. Happy since!

So the Bil's were worth twice the price huh, I might go with them.

The nitros were way to stiff on the wrangler, both on and off road, so I installed hydros. FYI, the wrangler felt solid going 80 down the freeway. It is also comfortable creeping down trails.

Just installed gabriel proguards on the xj and I think they may too stiff also. I need a little more seat time to confirm. If so, I am pulling the hyrdos off the wrangler and putting them on the xj.

thats my 2 cents

i just purchased the RC Nitro 9000's for my xj. i've had them about a month and yes they are stiff. on or off the road. but ride doesn't matter to me. i needed something that can take a beating and my previous hydro shocks didn't last two months and so far the nitro's have withstood everything. (im rly hard on the xj) (RLY hard)
