Default gas mileage. . iknow I know

Well I was trail riding the other day and my girl wanted to go down the creek bed.. well I sunk it to half the headlights and stoped.. well I fried the alternator and had tranny fluid blowing out the beather tube.. and my gas mileage went to crap.. any suggestions? ??

buy a "duralast gold" alternator from AZ. its like $120 and will pay for itself in warranty exchanges if you keep trying to see if your jeep can swim.

is your transmission shifting through all 4 gears and then is the torque converter locking up?

Yea it was low.. then I went to fill it up and it didn't need any? Shifts fine as I can tell but my gas miledge went to ****...

was it running when you checked it?
what's the tach say while running down the highway?

Normally one undergoes waterproofing of components before attempting this... lol

Drain your transmission fluid completely and see what comes out. It should be filled only with Dexron III/Mercon fluid. If you put ATF+4 in it you got the wrong stuff. Beware that overfilling is as bad as underfilling, instructions to check fluid level are on the dipstick.

Have you let the engine bay dry out yet? Distributor full of water? Any codes?

No and no codes but the same one Ive had for 8 months.. I need to check the distributor

Could water kill your O2 sensors? That could cause bad mileage.

Didn't suck much water in only part of the filter was wet
