The only way I found to get better gas mileage was to drive down hills a lot. I used to own an 88 larado that got 19 mixed city and 25 on the highway on long trips. I blew the engine and had it replace and only could get 17-18 after that. I traded the 88 for a 96 country and figured after 8 years Chrysler would improve the mpg. Ha-Ha, I only get 17-19 on trips now. You might be able to squeeze out 1-3 mpg with plugs, wires, filter and syn. oil, keep the tire pressure correct, but they haven't done much over the year to help increase the mpg.

could run a can of seafoam through it. May help a bit if its really dirty. Some non-store upgrades would be free flowing exhaust and injectors. Intake is debatable depending who you talk to.

i got a good increase when i switch the mec fan to an electric fan. i get 19 highway and 15 in town but that with 33s and stock gearin in a hilly part of iowa. hopefully gears will get me over 20.
i also have exhaust and cold air intake

by hills i meant drive up with 33s and stock gearing. have to feather gas to keep from kicking down to first up a big hill at 60 mpg (1st and 60 is hard on gas milage)

i got a lot better when i changed the fuel filter. and if you have a stock air filter, upgrade to the cold air intake! you get much more air so more horsepower and better gas mileage. superchips are good too, but kind of expensive.

im stock on 30" tires 4.0 six with the ax15 manual 5speed and 3.07 gears and get a mixed 17.89 mpg. with my 3" lift and 31"s i want to try and still get 17ish mixed. if not no less than 16. and yeah for the most part...and e-fan will get you the best mpg boost for in town driving anyways...and next is to re-gear. but that is a wash due to the cost of re-gearing
I get 17mpg consistently on stock everything, tires, gears, motor/trans. Gas mileage with these depends on how you drive. I can drive it hard and get 13 or I can drive it softly and get upwards of 19.
A tune up and air filter won't hurt it though.

I started with 15mpg in my 95 ZJ with a 4.0, I changed the injectors to some Neon 703s and I got 18.6mpg with no changes to my driving habbits. I just did a complete tune up the other day, so I can't wait to see if there is anymore improvement.

I don't have one yet, but a buddy of mine has one on his, and my dad has one on his Dodge Durango and they both get better gas mileage. You have to use the 93 more expensive gas but it lasts longer and it will run a whole lot better

interesting. Please do a review on it as well as a month or two followup if you could. I noticed most of them arent for use with bored out TB's and other similar modifications.
