gas gauge fixed-follow up
Posted a couple weeks ago about a non-functioning gas gauge. Just wanted to post update for anyone with similar issues. After trying the gauge reset trick I learned here (hold trip meter button and turn key so power comes one, but dont start it) it still didnt work. The gauge did move during the test sequence, so I figured it was the sensor in the tank. Gauge still sat on Empty. I was not looking forward to having to pull that gas tank out.
Finally had a chance to mess with it yesterday. Crawled under there just to have a look, and low and behold one of the wires running into the plug/harness (which runs into tank) was cut. It was completely separated as if someone had cut it or it caught on something. Anyway, spliced it back together and gauge works fine now. Glad it was something simple for once. Anyone thats having gauge issues, have a look at this before pulling your tank out.
