My gas gauge just stopped working how do I fix it?

Ok, we need a bit more info from you. Year of your rig to start. Does it work at all/ intermittenly or nothing what so ever?

95 it worked fine last week .now It reads 1/4 tank and hasent moved I even ran out if gass ! Because of it

Could be the cluster or the sending unit in the tank. If you happen to have a junkyard/extra gauge cluster laying around you could pop yours out and hook it up and see if you get a reading.

Anyone know what the sending unit changes on the wire? Variable resistance to ground?

Dunno, but it could be a bad sending unit, bad gauge, or loose/corroded wiring. Lots to check out.
