Default Gages

I was driving to work the other day and all of my gages except for the voltmeter and oil pressure stooped working. I haven't taken the dash apart to check for a lose plug yet. Dose that sound like a good place to start or should i be looking some where else thanks for the input.

I'd start with a loose plug or a dirty connection.

You know those gritty grey erasers that are supposed to work on ink (and don't?) You should be able to find them at any office or school supply house - get a couple and keep them in your toolbox. They're great for cleaning electrical connections!

You're welcome...

You can use the pink pencil eraser, but it's more work. The grey one has a bit of grit in it, and that works very well.

I've also had good luck using cheap toothpaste (not gel!) as a polish for metal surfaces - it's what we used to use to polish uniform brass while I was still in the AF. Use it with a cheap toothbrush, and it gets into all the little cracks and details that you just can't reach any other way...
