Future Build
no offense but that's gotta be the funniest dumb comment I've ever heard!! The top of a good block has the same if not more surface area of a stock perch! Putting blocks on doesn't make the spring negetively arch any more! The only reason possible that a spring will break with blocks is cause your stacking blocks, using small dia. U-bolts, using too tall of blocks. Which all of those will cause axle wrap and will break your spring 99% of the time in front of the axle. Not the blocks fault, but the owner for not securing the axle better.
But when you go to rustys website, go to the XJ Cherokee 4.5" Spring Pack Kit and go to the choose leaf option, you can choose the 4.5" spring pack OR the 3" springs + 1.5" shackles for an extra $40. For a total of $709.00
Now if you go to the XJ Cherokee 4.5" Add-A-Leaf Kit it already comes with the springs and shackles for the rear and the same everything else for a total of $589.00
So whats the point of it giving you the option in the Spring Pack Kit for the Spring/Shackles for the rear and you getting charged $709 when you can get the same in the AAL Kit for $589?
Just a little confused on that part if you kept up with my explanation lol

and with a 3 inch pack the spring is flater thus more flex thats another reason to use blocks and shackles and i dont wheel with to many full size all mid size

AAL have the same ride as full packs. Never use blocks on xj's leafs. Reason why is because they are so soft and tend to have Negitive arch will crack your leaf pack.
The ride quality of a lift vs stock depends on the spring rate of the packs you get. Shocks also have alot to do with the ride quslity.

first off BLOCKS ARE BAD over 2in they cause a massive amount of spring wrap in any rig bad for springs and u-joints....second my AAL sagged horribly after one wheeling trip ended up adding a set of 96 f-150 shakles about 1.5 inch longer or 3/4 in of lift to get it back up been fine since, but i would highly recommend full spring kits

it makes the suspension less predictable, which could end up being a safty issue if it happens in the wrong situation

ok 3" still not overkill , there are guys with 6-7" of block out there, spring wrap has little to do with u-bolts spring wrap is caused by the added leverage the axle has on the springs and on our soft passenger suv springs they will flex under the load ..a shorter , high arched , or higher spring rate sping will have less of a tendency to wrap...
