Future Build
Im looking into buying a Cherokee and wanted to know if this would be the right combination.
This is what im looking at http://myrtlebeach.craigslist.org/ctd/2112987513.html
Lift: XJ Cherokee 4.5" Spring Pack Kit From Rustys, Adj. Forged Flex Ends, Imma do the 3'' leaf spring + the 1.5'' Shackles.
Im adding the Heavy Duty Lower Axle Mounts, and the Stabilizers - Single Perfomance
BUT whats the difference big between the 4.5" Spring Pack Kit and the 4.5"
Add-A-Leaf Kit
Tires: I know to get 3.75 backspacing so i can run 33/12.50/15 But what about offset if that matters?
Cragar Black V-5 Wheels--15 in. x 8 in., 5 x 4.5 in. Bolt Circle, 3.75 in. Backspace
There $45.95 a piece.
I would really like the soft 8's but they dont come in a 3.75 backspacing that i can find.
and the Cragar Street Lock D Window Black Wheels are $105 a piece and im not paying that.
Soo what am I missing?

From what I know, the add a leafs have a rougher ride, and will sag faster I guess(thats what I've read). I have Rustys 4.5 kit with add a leafs, but I don't really notice a rougher ride or sagging, maybe I'm just crazy, lol.

So far I've only done small trails so far (daily driver). So I can't really tell ya how it does offroad, but I assume it should do decently. I plan on taking my XJ into the forest where I live, I get it back. But I did like how soft everything seemed to be on the trails.
As far as onroad, it does good. I have no complaints there. I can feel more of the bumps in the front, but I don't mind it. Speed bumps are more jary that when it was stock. But as far as handling, it does pretty darn good.

a new pack would be rougher but would last longer add a leaf is cheaper keeps most of your stock ride but stiffens it alil to add height if you want good ride you would have to use blocks and shackles

Add of leafs leaf tend to sag A lot quicker because most packs are already worn out(Negitive arch). Most people end up kicking them selfs for getting an AAL, because they wear out and sag quickly. Lot of people say Rustys custumer servies sucks and there products aren't much better, but I have also read the exact opposite.
What you have planned sounds great.

The ride quality of a lift vs stock depends on the spring rate of the packs you get. Shocks also have alot to do with the ride quslity.

From looking at the Rusty's spring pack VS. the AAL is the spring pack has the Rear 4.5" leaf springs for the rear.
And the AAL has the Rear 3" full length add-a-leafs and the 1.5" rear extended greasable shackles for the rear.
BUT if you go to the spring back you can choose your leaf set up which gives you the option of choosing the 3" leafs and the 1.5" shackles for an extra $40.
Now what would be the point of doing that if the 4.5" AAL offers the same thing for less?

I guess it comes down the personal preffence meaning if you didn't have the loot to go get an SYE to do the 4.5 right you could use the 3" leaf with stock shalke till you got an SYE.
