If you go here, in post #24 https://www.cherokeeforum.com/f2/dec...105739/index2/ there is some stuff on the trans wiring. (Starting with another link)

You mentioned a fuse blowing if it was shorted....I wanted to mention that the PO of my 90 needed to replace the TCU. Anyway, it's accessible with the dash together.

It's value is 1.2 ohms. Chrysler P/N 83504880 Here's a replacement:
http://www.factorychryslerparts.com/.../83504880.html

The fuse should be 15A, acc'd to the drawing.

Here's a picture of the resistor pack as it should look. (not my pic, I found it while searching for the resistance value)
I am so fortunate to have this forum as a resource.
Radi thanks for your research & info, your amazing. And I am so glad to now know of factorychryslerparts.com for future parts needs.
Where did u find that image of the resistor? I tried google and not finding any images.

Really? Huh. It sure looks, (looked) like copper, but yea, crumbled to crap. (tough to measure the resistance with one end on the roof, and the other in the basement. (and I'd thought I brought a gun to a knife fight!)

Cool bike Troy! Looks old for alloy wheels...75 then?

OK, I was pretty slow in the "up-take" here. (the talk of a fused link....)

I might first just install the correct 15 amp fuse with the original resistor. If there is still a problem you could suspect, check or replace the resistor, but that might not be your issue. (unlikely it's passing too much current)

If I where to need to chase a wiring/electrical problem, first I'd do Cruisers ground refreshing in the link in my signature. You might just end up chasing your tail if you don't. Then also, the wires to your trans control solonoids plug in there behind the dipstick and run down to the trany. I might look around there for funky looking wires...chaffed, grounding ect....
