The full time light is on in 2wd, 4wd part time and 4lo; the part time is on in 4wd hi!

 

I need to get tags on this and it will not pass emissions till the full time light is not on while in 2wd! help please

 

Could you just pull the bulb?

 

Most likely a problem with the transfer-case indicator sensor.
I would also just pull the bulb - I have no idea why they would fail inspection for that because it is a manual linkage, it does not make a lick of difference what the light says...

 

Are you sure it's not IN 4-WD? Sometimes I need to back up. If the tires are mis-matched at all, you may need to back up quite a ways...
