So I have a 98 xj, I dropped the tank to swap fuel pump and in the process I found the tank pressure issue I’ve been having. The fuel tank vent valve is completely melted shut.. the second issue is it seems to not exist anywhere on the internet. Has someone run across this before? I’ve found no talk about this in any forums so I’m getting a little irritated. Now I had to waste a whole 6 pack doing research lol.

So I always try to learn stuff when somebody posts a problem that I have no clue on. Such as this. Is this the part you are talking about?

 

Buy more beer, and change brands. It may help get it fixed..

 

One of these things? I dont have a part number if thats it. I just googled fuel tank vent valve.

 

I actually found the part that I needed. Took me days. Here it is. Was only able to find it on the Napa website.

 

I tried that one but it didn’t fit correctly.
